Empowering our children to discover their Passion and fulfil their Potential
Tapora School is a nurturing learning community, on the idyllic Okahukura Peninsula in the Kaipara Harbour area.
Our healthy rural environment stimulates children both physically and academically, from New Entrant to Year 8.
We prepare our students for the 21st century, to think critically, inquire and be creative. We enjoy all the benefits of rural living and the best of innovative teaching and learning through IT, inquiry and personalised authentic learning opportunities. We offer small class sizes and a 1:1 computer to student ratio. Classrooms are equipped with ipads, computers and interactive whiteboards.
The school draws students from the Tapora district, as well as from Wellsford, the Wharehine and Port Albert areas. A bus from Wellsford can bring your child to meet the Tapora bus at Marsh road. If you are finding that your child is motivated and keen to learn but is becoming bored in their current classroom then Tapora School could be an option for you. With small classroom sizes children get much more attention and with different year levels within the class their programmes are individualised enabling children work at their own level and pace, therefore always learning and being challenged. Through our partnership with the Virtual Learning Network Primary school, students are offered extension classes in subjects they are interested in as well as the opportunity to learn languages. Some examples are extension maths, creative writing, biology, Korean and French to name a few.
Our values based education enables our children to take their place in the world as positive and caring citizens, with a vision for their future. We pride ourselves on working in partnership with our school community, to provide quality education in a caring and stimulating environment.
You are most welcome to arrange a time to visit and see if Tapora School could suit your child.
